10 Awesome Apps for Homeschooling

πŸ‘‹ Hi there!

Homeschooling can be a challenge, but luckily there are some amazing apps available to help make it easier. Here are 10 essential apps for homeschooling:

  1. Khan Academy: This app (and website) provides free online lessons and practice exercises in a variety of subjects, including math, science, and history. I’ve used it with my students across many grade levels. We love the lessons and the instructor. The visuals and explanations are so clear!

  2. ABCmouse: offers a wide range of educational activities and games for young learners.

  3. Epic!: provides an extensive library of e-books and audiobooks for students of all ages. So cool!

  4. Duolingo: teaches language skills through fun and engaging exercises. This is one of my favorite language apps, especially for young learners.

  5. TED: Who doesn’t love a good TED Talk? This app provides inspiring TED talks from a variety of experts.

  6. Mathway: This app (and website) helps students solve math problems with step-by-step explanations. Oh my gosh; I just discovered this. I can’t wait to use it more.

  7. Quizlet: allows students to create their own flashcards and study sets.

  8. BrainPOP: This app (and website) offers animated movies and quizzes for students in grades K-12. Good ole BrainPOP. One of my favorite supplemental resources out there.

  9. Newsela: provides current events and news articles written for different reading levels. Newsela is an excellent, meaningful resource to use.

  10. IXL Learning: This app (website) offers personalized learning and practice in math, language arts, science, and social studies. Similar to Khan, I’ve used IXL for many years and for many grade levels. You can’t go wrong with IXL.

I hope this list helps you find the perfect app to make homeschooling easier and more fun!
