Getting parents/guardians to participate can be difficult, but here are a few ways you may have heard about but havenβt tried or brand new ideas you want to try today. Here are 10 ways you can encourage parents/guardians to participate in your classroom/school.

Host casual events such as parent coffees or open house nights to give parents an opportunity to meet and get to know each other.
Create a dedicated communication channel for parents, such as a weekly newsletter or text messages, to keep them in the loop about upcoming events and activities. Here is a list of 12 Apps for Better Teacher-Parent Communication to give you some ideas.
Invite parents to serve on committees and task forces, so they can contribute their time and expertise to the school.
Ask parents to volunteer in the classroom and on field trips, to help provide valuable real-world experiences for students.
Provide parents with a list of ways they can be involved in their childβs education, such as monitoring their progress and helping with homework.
Offer parents resources and training on topics such as classroom management and student engagement.
Promote events and activities through online platforms, such as social media, to reach a wider audience of parents.
